One of the most iconic landmarks in South Trinidad, where I live is the San Fernando Hill. I see it every morning as I step out my front door; hovering over the city and environs. It stands as a guardian with all its secrets from the Indigenous people that lived and traversed its trails, mournful of the quarrying that has stripped some of its limestone beauty. It is now a heritage site for visitors to enjoy the view while picnicking.
The hill is now immortalized in this bud vase hand built using the Kurinuki technique, shino glazed and soda fired to cone 10.
